Should we all download the sample to Snow White and the Huntsman then talk about whether or not to read the whole book? Traci, if you've already read it just say so, we can read something else. :-)
I didn't realize the movie was based on a book and didn't see the movie. I do, however, love fairy tale-type books. In fact, I usually read one every few books because they break up the intensity of most other genres.
I read the sample and liked it then downloaded it last night and read several chapters. I think this is going to be a fairly fast read (short book). I wasn't even aware there was a Huntsman in the story until they had an episode about him on Once Upon a Time. So far, I'm hoping that Snow ends up with the huntsman.
So, I finished SW&TH last night. Because I saw the movie first and know that Chris Hunky-hunky Hemsworth played the huntsman, that's who I had pictured in my mind throughout the read. I liked the book and found myself cheering for the hunky huntsman, despite his anger and pain... or maybe because of it? I also dig that Snow White was such a strong character and not a shrinking violet.
Let's do that. I actually bought the book before I saw the movie, and then got overexcited and watched the movie first.
ReplyDeleteI would like to read it. Wanna give it a try? I vote yes!

Ha! I want to end up with the huntsman!
ReplyDeleteAlrighty! I shall commence reading it tonight! I am excited!
Hey - what do you think about starting a nomination list for future books to read/discuss?
ReplyDeleteI think that's a fantastic idea, Traci.
ReplyDeleteI'm open to fiction and non-fiction - including scary murder mysteries and books with ripped guys on the cover, Tanya:-)
I will peruse my downloaded samples and post some ideas in the next couple of days.
